Attendance evidence

Data & GPS

When location is requested

Location is requested during the attendance flow when a worker attempts to clock in or out. InOutPro does not need continuous background location tracking for the documented workflow.

What is recorded

When available, a record may include latitude, longitude, device-reported accuracy, calculated distance from the configured location and a geofence status. QR token, time, device and photo evidence may also be attached to the attendance record.

Missing or outside-radius signals

A workplace can configure whether missing GPS, outside-radius GPS or a missing photo should be flagged. A flag sends the record to manager review. Unless the workplace configures a stricter policy, a flag does not automatically reject the clock event.

Accuracy limits

GPS accuracy varies with device settings, buildings, weather and signal availability. Distance and geofence status are evidence for review, not proof of identity, conduct or precise physical position.

Workplace responsibilities

Organizations should set a reasonable radius, explain the collection process to staff, restrict evidence access, review exceptions fairly and follow applicable workplace, privacy and surveillance laws.
